The Gaby Deek Internet Innovation Award is a yearly inter-university competition organized by the Internet Society Lebanon (ISOC-LB) to recognize the best three undergraduate students’ final-year projects in the general area of the Internet.

Teams of students (1 up to 5) should identify an Internet-related opportunity or problem, formally formulate the problem and its requirements, and next develop a solution, ideally within ISOC’s 2024 action plan:

– Countering internet threats

– Extending encryption

– Guiding constructive Internet policy

– Helping shape Internet legal precedent

– Sharing cutting-edge knowledge

– Securing global routing

– Community Networks

– Infrastructure and Community Development

– Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS)

– Measuring the Internet

– The Internet Way of Networking

– Digital Sovereignty

– Network and Distributed System Security (NDSS) Symposium 2022

– Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite systems

– Sustainable Technical Community

– Sustainable Peering Infrastructure

The selected teams will do a 10-minute presentation in front of a jury on Tuesday the 25th of June, 2024 at 3:00 PM.
